Hi, Stampers!
Are you ready for a new Creative Crafters Challenge? It starts today with the usual “Anything Goes” theme and I have a Congrats card that I made for my daughter’s residency program to share. They have five third year residents that have just finished the program and she asked me to create a card that fit the occasion for each of them. There needed to be enough room for lots of signatures and personal messages. So, I made this 5″ square card using the Simple Congrats stamp set and created a little extra space for the personal messages with more fun messages appropriate for the recipients.
Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Firstly, the card base used white cardstock, cut at 5 x 12 and scored at 5 and 10.
- After that, I cut Shaded Spruce cardstock (the school’s color), cut to 4-3/4 square and dry embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder.
And now, the fun part!
- I stamped the Congrats image in Shaded Spruce ink onto white cardstock that had been cut to 2-1/2 x 4-3/4. Once that was done, I layered it onto Gold Foil paper that had been cut to 2-5/8 x 4-3/4.
- I wanted to keep the front simple but still wanted something to jazz it up. So, I cut out the banner in the Mixed Labels die collection in gold foil paper. Both the sentiment panel and banner were popped up with dimensionals.
- Finally, to add a little elegant bling, I used the 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

Then, on the inside…
- After completing the inside, I made a panel with Shaded Spruce, cut to 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 and layered white cardstock, cut to 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 on top.
- I stamped the From All of Us sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink and framed it with the leafy image in Shaded Spruce ink.
- I love a pun… even if I need help getting it. I downloaded and fussy cut the instrument that all dermatologists use—the dermatoscope. I didn’t get the humor in the “The future is bright” sentiment… until my daughter pointed out it was about the dermatoscope’s light! Cue the facepalm moment. But now? I can’t unsee it and it makes me smile every time.
- I stamped the sentiment and cropped it out with the Stylish Shapes square die, then layered it onto Shaded Spruce cut to 2-1/4 and gold foil, cut to 2-3/8. I lined up the top and bottom diagonal corners of the gold square and glued down the left side. Then, I centered the sentiment over it and glued the dermatoscope to the panel.

“Mr. Smiley” is loving his new sun hat from his Auntie Sarah! Of course, a dermatologist would give a sun protecting hat! It’s always good to start them wearing one early, right?
