Stampin’ Up! Gallery Blooms for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Create this card using Gallery Blooms by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

This month’s theme is “Favorites of the New Annual Catalog.” Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting the fun, there are lots to get you inspired for your next project. So, click through the lineup to “hop” along and see how we are inspired by these beautiful new products. You’re bound to find a few new favorites—and some inspiration along the way!

This was such a difficult theme for me because I couldn’t narrow down the list of which ones were my favorite! So, I had toss a coin and the Beautiful Gallery suite won. My project uses the stunning Beautiful Gallery suite, but I have also incorporated some other new products to enhance the card that are wonderful. Let me know in a comment if I changed your mind on any of these new products!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I made this Flip Up fun fold card using the tutorial from Laura Strand’s Facebook group. Even though I have made this fun fold before, it was so convenient to follow her instructions. I did change one little part, which is mentioned below.
  • TIP: Cut all of your paper pieces before gluing!! This will help you get it all assembled without any problems.
  • Card Base: cardstock was cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4
  • Front Panel covering the card base: Cardstock cut to 5-1/4 x 4
  • DSP covering the card base: 5-1/8 x 3-7/8
  • Flip Up card 5 x 3-1/4 and scored at 3/4.” This is the aforementioned change, because I couldn’t get the bottom edge to reach the end of the card base panel cardstock. After that, following Laura’s instructions, I measured 1″ from both sides of the card base cardstock and glue this piece to the back. Then, I was able to trim the Flip Up card to the exact length of the card base cardstock. This just made my little OCD heart happy, but feel free to do it how Laura did because hers didn’t seem to have the same issue as I did.
  • Once the papers were cut, I assembled the card using adhesives; a tape runner for the larger pieces, and glue for the smaller pieces to ensure they lined up evenly.

And now, the fun part!

  • Now, on to the fun, I found some great sentiments in one of my other new favorite stamp sets, The Right Words. I stamped the sentiment in Pecan Pie ink, then cropped it out with the cute die from the Mixed Labels die collection. I added a bit of ink to the edges and set it aside.
  • After that, I started looking for the perfect background foliage but didn’t have to look far because they were right there in the Gallery Blooms dies. I bet you have ooh’ed and aah’ed over the large ones but I absolutely love the little ones, as well! So, I cut them out using Mossy Meadow, Pecan Pie and the subtle “B” side of one of the Beautiful Gallery papers.
  • Once all of that was cut, I cut another piece of the sentiment die, added adhesive, and started assembling the foliage. Then, I glued the sentiment piece on top.
  • Finally, to really make it stand out even further, I stamped the large banner in the Mixed Labels stamp set in Early Espresso ink and cropped it out with the coordinating die. Adding the new Pressed Flower Motifs around the focal point was the perfect touch to round out the front of the card.
  • Flip Up card: I love that the inside of the card front opens up for even more fun details! So, I stamped another sentiment from The Right Words stamp set, then added more of the foliage and the cute little die cut from the Mixed Labels die collection. Love it!

Then, on the inside…

  • Finally, this card is almost finished! I cut more Pecan Pie cardstock to 5-1/4 x 4 and white cardstock to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8.
  • On the white cardstock, I stamped the cute sentiment from the Coneflower Celebrations stamp set in Pecan Pie ink. Then, I stamped the beautiful foliage image in Pecan Pie ink – once in full ink then again in second generation ink.
  • This card was so much fun and filled my creativity cup!

We had Noah last weekend so he could see the fireworks for the 4th of July—he was in awe the whole time. But the next day was even better. He spent hours with his new Cut & Paste activity book, completely lost in his own world. I think he really loves crafting!! He was so proud of his fruit basket that he asked for a photo—just so I could smile.

Honestly, everything this kid does makes me smile. But the fact that he wanted me to smile? It really touched my heart in a way I didn’t even know it could be.
