Join the Creative Creases Challenge starting today! Whether you’re a seasoned cardmaker or just getting started, I hope this inspires you to play along. There are so many fun folds to try! I decided to do one that I saw by Patty Bennett that she called the “Hidden Door Trifold” card. It’s a lot of fun to make, especially if you have some paper scraps hanging around your craft table. I used the new Celebratory Sips designer paper and added more layers, which I have to have on my cards, but you can certainly make this card with just designer paper.
So, don’t forget to check out the beautiful cards by the rest of the talented design team. Click the link below to head over to the challenge.
My Card Today

My Secrets!
Let’s start with the card base…
- Here’s the tutorial from Patty Bennett that inspired my card. She shows how the entire card base can be made with one sheet of cardstock on her blog post.
- Card Base Measurements:
- Cardstock: 6-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4
- Cardstock: 3 x 10-1/2, and scored at 2, 3, 5-1/2, 8
- Panel Measurements:
- Cardstock:
- 2 x 5-1/4 (2),
- 2-1/2 x 2-3/4 (3)
- 4 x 5-1/4
- Dry Embossed Cardstock:
- 1-3/4 x 2-3/4
- 3/4 x 2-3/4,
- 2-1/2 x 2-3/4
- DSP:
- 1-7/8 x 5-1/8 (2)
- 2-3/8 x 2-5/8 (2)
- 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
- White cardstock for personal message: 2-3/8 x 2-5/8
- Cardstock:
- Once all of the paper panels were cut, I glued them all together and adhered them to the card base.
Now, the FUN part!
- Honestly, the beautiful designer papers do the heavy lifting on this card. So, all I had to do was decorate a couple of the panels.
- Firstly, I stamped the sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set (retired) and cut it out with the die from the Unbounded Love die collection.
- There is a patterned paper in the Celebratory Sip that has great watercolored rectangles, so I used it to cut out the flowers from the Happy Hibiscus dies and the flower stem (cut twice—once from the paper and another from white cardstock) from the Gallery Blooms dies. Then, the flowers were popped up with dimensionals, and the flower stem pieces were glued together and adhered to the small panel.
- Then, I fussy cut the two drinks out of the designer paper and layered them on the inside of the small card.
- Finally, I added the Strawberry Slush Gems to the front of the card.
I hope to submit this card to the following challenges:
- A Perfect Time to Craft
- Crafty Catz
- Ellibelle’s Corner – Garden Party
- NBUS
- Pammie’s Inky Pinkies
- The Paper Funday

Four little race cars, one happy little artist! Noah loves to paint, so I picked up a race car kit for him to build and decorate. He’s been tackling one car a day this week—and he’s loving it! It’s been so fun watching his creativity shine and his focus kick in. This was his very first car, and I can already tell next week’s “race day” is going to be epic when they’re all done!
If you’ve got a little builder who loves art and needs a fun screen-free project, these kits are a win. Total mom hack for a good afternoon!
Beautiful creation, great way to show all the lovely papers off. Thank you for allowing me to join you as a GDT this month. Emmax

Debbie, your card is so lovely! That DSP is so colorful and pretty, and this fold is so fun! I haven’t tried it yet and need to give it a go soon! Thanks for the tip about the painting set! I’ll keep that in mind for Sawyer. Recently he’s discovered the joys of finger painting and playing with kinetic sand! Have a wonderful weekend!
SUCH a cool fold – and you decorated it so sweetly!! Beautiful paper and sweet die-cut posies! I love it! 🙂
Terrific fun-fold to celebrate that magnificent DSP, Debbie! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
