Center of Attention Fun Fold Card for Creative Creases #108

It’s time for a new Creative Creases Challenge starting today! Whether you’re a seasoned card maker or just getting started, I hope this inspires you to play along. I haven’t made a Center of Attention fun fold in soooo long! This fun fold makes such a great display for any special occasion. It looks difficult but it really isn’t. I just love a card that showcases a mix of images and papers.

So, why aren’t you putting your fun fold cards in the gallery? Fun folds are becoming increasingly popular. If you are ready to give one a try, let me know in a comment below. I’m more than happy to help you figure out how to get one started today!

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Here is Kayla Renee’s tutorial to make the Center of Attention fun fold that I followed. However, as usual, I didn’t quite make the cuts right. Kayla has a great image showing all of the scores and cuts that will help make my instructions understandable. So, here are the instructions for my card:
  • Card Base: Cardstock – 8 x 5-1/2, then:
    • score at 2″ on each end (2 and 6)
    • then, cut the top and bottom of the card at 1″ mark from score line to score line on the 8″ side
    • next, score at the 4″ line in the top and bottom on the 5-1/2″ side
    • finally, score at 3 and 5 in the middle section on the 5-1/2 side
  • Cardstock Panels:
    • 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 (2)
    • 1-3/4 x 3/4 (4)
    • 3-1/4 x 3/4 (2)
    • 3-1/4 x 1-3/4 (1)
  • DSP Panels:
    • 1-5/8 x 5-1/8 (2)
    • 1-5/8 x 5/8 (4)
    • 3-1/8 x 5/8 (2)
    • 3-1/8 x 1-5/8 (1)
  • After all of the papers were cut, I adhered them together and glued them to the card base.

Now, the FUN part!

  • The rest of the card was super quick to finish. I cut out two each of the Charming Day dies in white cardstock.
  • Then, I fussy cut the two flowers from the Florals in Bloom designer paper.
  • After that, I stamped the butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set (on the Last Chance List). I cropped it out with the coordinating die and again with Shy Shamrock cardstock. They were glued together and adhered to the card base.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set and cropped it out with the Unbounded Love die. It was popped up with dimensionals before layering the two flowers.
  • Finally, I added a few gems to the butterfly and flower for a little sparkle.

I hope to submit this card to the following challenges:

  1. A Perfect Time to Craft
  2. Beautiful Blossoms
  3. Crafty Catz
  4. Die Cut Divas
  5. Ellibelle’s Corner
  6. NBUS (first time to use this patterned paper)
