Stampin’ Up! Peace on Earth Accordion Card for the Inspiration Station

Create this card using Peace on Earth by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

Are you ready for a new Inspiration Station  Challenge? We’ve got a brand new photo to get your wheels turning. The photo immediately reminded me of the gorgeous designer paper Stampin’ Up! had a few years ago that I loved and hoarded. It was time to let it shine again. I used the Peace on Earth and the retired Spotlight on Nature stamp sets. I think the paper is the star of the card, but all of these products play quite nicely together. I wanted to make the paper the focal point on the inside. To achieve this, I created an accordion fold that never disappoints. The Peaceful Poppies designer paper has long since retired. If you have any, show it off and join the challenge.

So, what about you? What part of the inspiration photo speaks to your creativity? I’d love to see how it moves you. Your interpretation of the Inspirational Photo is your own so let your creativity flow!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • I’ve made quite a few accordion cards. I saw Patty Bennett’s video a couple of weeks ago. I liked the variation she added with the little fold on the right. She shows how easy this card is to make so I hope you give it a go!
  • Card Base: 4-1/4 x 11, score at 5-1/2
  • Front:
    • Cardstock: 5-1/4 x 4
    • DSP: 5-1/8 x 3-7/8
  • Inside:
    • Accordion: 4 x 12, score at 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and cut at 10″ (you will use this piece!). Glue the left side to the card base, then folding all of the acordion fold together, glue the other side to the card base.
    • Right-sided card flap: Using color-coordinating cardstock, cut 4 x 4 and score at 2. Place the fold to the edge of the card base and glue to the edge of the accordion DSP. Then, glue the 2 x 4 piece of DSP to the front.
    • Optional: If you used colored cardstock like I did, you can add white cardstock for a personal message.

Then, on the front…

  • After making the background panel with the beautiful Peaceful Poppies paper, I added a piece of ribbon before adhering it to the card front.
  • Then, I stamped the sentiment from Peace on Earth in Blackberry Bliss ink and cut it out with the retired Spotlight on Nature circle die.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the beautiful flower image from the retired Spotlight on Nature stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink and colored it very lightly with Stampin’ Blends.
  • Finally, I added a few Metallic Gems for some sparkle.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:

What’s more fun than visiting a corner farmer’s market on a gorgeous autumn day! Noah loved seeing the old farm equipment but the apple cider donuts were the best we’ve ever had!
