Stampin’ Up! Traditional Labels Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Ready to sprinkle some holiday magic into your crafting this season? This month’s theme, Season’s Greetings, is all about celebrating the joy of handmade creations. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals have come together to share festive cards and paper craft ideas using our favorite Stampin’ Up! products — each project designed to inspire your creativity and help you capture the spirit of the season.

It doesn’t seem possible that it’s already time to be thinking about the holidays and a new year! Wow, this year has moved at sonic speed. I have a card for you that is super easy to make and people will think you spent so much time making it. But, with just one more score line, you can make an easy fun fold that will display beautifully during the holidays. I used the new Traditional Labels bundle along with the new Sentimental Framing dies to make the perfect background. Of course, you all know that I love having a bit of “life” on my cards so the beautiful doves from the Peace on Earth dies take center stage.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

• Do you have a fun fold card that you just love to use? I have a few and this Z Fold is a real favorite. I love how versatile it is! My card looks like an easel card, but it’s a Z Fold in the landscape position.
• This A2 card started with cardstock, cut to 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4.
• Front Panel: Cardstock cut to 5-1/4 x 4 and DSP cut to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8
• Inside Panel: Cardstock cut to 5-1/4 x 4 and DSP cut to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8

And now, the fun part!

• Wasn’t that easy?! Once that was done, I used the new Sentimental Framing dies with Misty Moonlight cardstock and the small one in Cloud Cover cardstock. I layered the large one onto white cardstock and rounded the edges with scissors to enhance the details in the die. Then, I popped up the smaller one with dimensionals.
• I stamped the “Season’s Greetings” from the Traditional Labels stamp set with Night of Navy ink and cut it out with the coordinating die in the Traditional Labels die collection. I gave it some dimension by popping up only the top banner and gluing the bottom banner onto the small die cut. It’s subtle, but I love how it looks!
• Once that was done, I cut out the two doves from the Peace on Earth dies and popped them up onto the card front. . I also cut out the little peace branch in white cardstock and colored it first with the Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends marker, then lightened it a bit with the Cloud Cover to give it some contrast.
• The final touch was adding the Flat Pearls for some holiday sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

• The inside of the card is simple and classic. I chose a patterned paper from the Peaceful Garden paper pack that will work well when I write a personal message. Then, I layered it onto the Misty Moonlight cardstock.
• I stamped the “Sending Cheer” from the Traditional Labels stamp set. These stamps have a slight curve to them to fit the coordinating die, but, because they are photopolymer, I could straighten them out very easily. Once that was done, I cut it out with another die and layered it onto Misty Moonlight cardstock that was also cut out with the Traditional Labels die collection. They were glued together and popped up with dimensionals in the spot I wanted them to be able to fold the front of the card up for display.
• Finally, I thought I would bring in a flower that works well with the patterned paper on the front. So, I cut the two coordinating flowers from Delightful Wishes with white cardstock. Then, I colored the large piece with Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends. It was topped with a pretty flat pearl for a sweet touch.
