Stampin’ Up! Snow Wonder Card for Let’s Craft and Create Challenge

Create this card using Snow Wonder by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Let’s Craft and Create Challenge just started, and it’s the last one for the year! Can you believe it?! I sure can’t. Well, our theme is “vintage” this month, and I had to dig into my retired stamps once again to find my favorite snowman. I think this snowman looks so vintage, and I couldn’t wait to ink him up again. I even paired him with some “vintage” paper and distressed it to add even more. The sentiment from Peace on Earth adds the best message for the world we live in at the moment! So, do you think I nailed the “vintage” theme? What do you have in your craft room to play with for our challenge?

Ready to get your creative juices flowing? Head over to the gallery for a dose of inspiration, and if you’re feeling crafty, come play along with us!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • This was an easy-peasy card. It started with Very Vanilla (another great vintage touch), cut to 11-4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
  • Then, I cut the Festive Farmhouse paper to 5-1/8 x 3-7/8 and distressed it with my distressing tool. I decided to run it through the Forever Plaid embossing folder. All of the edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink to add to the vintage look.
  • After that, I cut Cherry Cobbler cardstock and distressed it as well.
  • Both layers were wrapped with Garden Green baker’s twine to make a bow, then adhered to the card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • I stamped the snowman from the Snow Wonder stamp set in Secret Sea ink. Once it was dry, I colored it with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below). Then, I cropped it out with the coordinating die.
  • After that, I stamped the trees with Garden Green ink and cropped it out with its coordinating die.
  • For the sentiment, I stamped my favorite one from the Peace on Earth stamp set in Garden Green ink, then cropped it out with the die in the coordinating die collection.
  • Before adhering them to the card base, I sponged the edges for more vintage details. The snowman was popped up with dimensionals.
  • I added gold snowflakes topped with Very Vanilla Matte Dots as well as Black Matte Dots to the snowman.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:

Noah loves to learn, and being a little scientist is right up there with crafting! Here’s an experiment we did that shows how primary colors make secondary colors.
