Friendly Wishes Coming Your Way

Friendly Wishes

Hello, Stampers! Did you get to see all of the great masculine cards last week? You really need to check out the Paper Players challenge before you make your next card, and with Father’s Day rapidly approaching, you will get very good ideas for them. Now, onto our next challenge, which is hosted by the very talented Sandy Mathis. The color challenge that she has for us this week will definitely get you thinking about summer! I not only thought about summer but nautical. In the end, I decided against that because I just made a 3-D nautical card last Sunday. So, fighting that incredible urge (because I love nautical cards), I finally went with the new stamp set, Friendly Wishes, using the sentiment that will celebrates your best friends. What friend wouldn’t love to get a card that expresses your feelings about them?! This stamp set will be used again and again for all of its great sentiments. This card started by making the card base and background. Then I stamped the sentiment and colored the heart and the word, FRIEND, with markers. I did end up going to the Lots of Labels Framelits because I just really thought it framed it well (and lo and behold, Stampin’ Up! thought so as well if you look in the catalog!). I then cut the Pool Party to frame it out but it looked a little plain to me, so I got to playing with it and that is what you see in the photo above.

  1. Hello Debbie: I just love this bright and colorful card, the way you framed this beautiful sentiment accentuates it’s words, the brick embossed layer is fabulous, I so totally need that embossing folder. Love the sweet detail of the candy dots and that pretty red cotton bow.
    Thank you for sharing.

  2. Debbie, I love how you used the focal ‘lots of labels’ layer as the top edge for the blue mat…what a neat idea! A truly lovely card!

  3. Good Sunday afternoon, Debbie! This card is so sweet! I,too, love how you used the new framelits, what a great idea! And the little hearts and bow…just adorable! I didn’t “have” to have those new framelits, until I saw this card. Now I do!

  6. This is a stunner Debbie! That red just pops, and I love the sentiment, too. I may need to get those framelits now after seeing this!

  9. What a sweet way to use these colors and this lovely sentiment. It’s nice to see something non-patriotic! Love how you colored the word “friend” and the little red heart too…very cute!

  10. Debbie, you know that I adore all that red! The brick wall is just fantastic! Thank you for enabling me to buy those framelits! They look amazing on your card! Anyone would love to receive this card with a sentiment that touches my heart! XX

  11. I seriously LOVE this card. Wonderful theme using those colors. I even tried something similar last Christmas and it worked so well. My favorite detail is the way you mixed the two Lots of Labels with the sentiment as another layer. And those sweet hearts. Off to pin another of your lovely cards.
