Trucking Along Bridge Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Trucking Along Bridge Card by Debbie Mageed

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

Happy Holidays! This month, the theme is Winter Wonderland. We hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. I love making winter cards and the One Horse Open Sleigh designer paper has such beautiful scenes to use. So, I could have just picked out one of my favorites, popped it onto a card base, added a sentiment and called it a day. Instead, I chose to make a very easy fun fold to show you today, called the Bridge Fold, and paired it with the fun truck from Trucking Along. It’s perfect for holiday cards so it won’t take any time at all to add to the beautiful designer paper.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, the card base is made with card base, cut to 8 x 5-1/2 and scored at 1-1/4 and 2-1/2 on both ends.
  • Panels:
    • Middle Panel: 2-13/16 x 5-5/16 (feel free to make yours at 2-3/4 x 5-1/4)
    • Side Panels: 1-1/16 x 5-5/16 (feel free to make yours at 1 x 5-1/4)
    • Bridge Band: cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 1-1/2 and added designer paper, cut to 5-5/16 x 1-5/16 (feel free to cut to 5-1/4 x 1-1/4)
  • NOTE: This card will be 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 when folded flat for mailing. So, if you are interested in using the A2 envelope, you will need to change the card base dimensions to 4-1/2 x 8.

And now, the fun part!

  • Once that’s done, I stamped the truck from Trucking Along stamp set and colored it (colors listed below). Then, I punched it out with the coordinating punch. After that, I stamped the tree, colored it, fussy cut it out, and glued to the back of the truck.
  • Then, I stamped the “Winter Wishes” sentiment from Magical Meadow stamp set and cropped it out with the circle die in Stylish Shapes collection.
  • Lastly, I glued one end of the Bridge Band to the card base and flattened the card to glue the other side to make sure the card will fold flat for mailing.
  • Then, I popped the truck and sentiment up with dimensionals.
  • Finally, if you want to sign the card, you can easily add a panel to the back for a personal message, using the dimensions for the middle panel above.
