Delicate Doilies – Pals Fun Challenge

Hello!

Just finishing up a very busy weekend – where did it go?  I wasn’t able to play at all in my craft room this weekend.  It was full of activities with my family and also an interfaith gathering.  Have you heard about Artprize?  It is a wonderful event here where artists from all over the world exhibit their art of all kinds and then we get to vote for our favorites.  The winner gets a nice prize and everyone has a wonderful time!  It has been going on for a few years and it is really great to see how the city of Grand Rapids lights up with families and friends walking from venue to venue.  Anyway, on to the last card I made before the weekend:

Delicate Doilies

One of the best parts of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is being one of Mary Fish’s Stampin’ Pretty Pals.  It truly has enriched my life and I can’t imagine ever leaving.  Mary challenged the Pals last week to make a card using any product that starts with the letter of our name.  I didn’t realize how few items started with D!  So, I chose Delicate Doilies and A Dozen Thoughts (I think that one counts!) with Daffodil Delight cardstock.  It was so much fun!  Now, this week Mary will take the entries and choose a random winner for a prize!  Wish me luck!

It’s All in the Details

  • Stamp Set:  Delicate Doilies, A Dozen Thoughts
  • Paper: Quatrefancy Specialty DSP, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake cardstock
  • Ink: VersaMark
  • Cool Tools: Heat Tool, Circle Punch
  • Finishing Touch:  Brights Candy Dots, Dimensionals, Early Espresso Embossing Powder

I hope you like my card today!  Would you please leave a comment and let me know what you did this weekend?  You might as well because today is the LAST DAY to enter my blog candy contest.  You must subscribe to my blog AND leave a comment to win.  I will pick a random winner and the winner has 24 hours to claim their prize.  If they do not, I will pick another winner so please come back tomorrow to see if YOU get my blog candy prize.  Please understand that I am only able to mail to an USA address. Until next time,

Keep calm and craft on,

Debbie

PPA 173 – Jewish Celebrations

Jewish Celebrations

What a fun week I am having!  I hope you are as well.  The PPA challenge this week is such a great sketch!  I was looking at the Winter Frost DSP and the Star of David kept catching my eye – does that ever happen to you?!  All of the patterns in this designer series paper are gorgeous, but those stars kept me drawn to it.  So, I am very happy that Stampin’ Up! didn’t retire the Jewish Celebrations stamp set or I would have been really stuck!  This card came together so fast (love, love, love it when that happens!).  I am not Jewish but I am very involved with interfaith activities and have Jewish friends.  I love to send them cards for their holidays!  It always makes me happy when I get holiday cards so why wouldn’t they feel that way as well?  This stamp set is not listed in the annual catalog or the holiday mini catalog but it is still available so I will list the item number for you in the details section if you would like to order it.

I heat embossed the menorah and the sentiment stamp in Smoky Slate to match the paper.  The Stars of David are just fussy cut straight from the paper.  Rhinestones are added for a little sparkle and glam.  So, what do you think?  I can easily make these cards for all of my friends and they will hopefully know that I care about them enough to make a pretty card for THEIR holiday.

It’s All in the Details

  • Stamp Set: Jewish Celebrations (#128045)
  • Paper: Winter Frost Specialty DSP, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, Whisper White cardstocks
  • Ink: VersaMark

I hope you liked my card today!    If you have any questions, please let me know.  Stamping is truly the most fun hobby that I have ever done and there are SO many ways in incorporate it into your creative life.  Is there any stamping technique that you would like to learn?  Let me know how you have fun with your stamping stuff.

Well, off to play some more!  Until next time,

Stay calm and craft on!

Debbie
