Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Blooms Card for Let’s Craft and Create #232

Create this card using Scalloped Blooms by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Let’s Craft and Create Challenge starts today, and the actual theme is “Penny for Your Thoughts.” I say “actually” because, once again, I got the theme wrong and thought the theme was to make a card with buttons. Then, I found out that the theme was about sentiments. So, luckily, my card has one, and I like it! LOL

My card today uses a new bundle, Scalloped Blooms. The small scallop die is perfect for flowers (which I used to always use buttons as centers for flowers). Since I didn’t keep my buttons when I moved four years ago, I used the circle die that is part of this bundle to make the buttons, just using my piercing tool to make the button holes.

I remember making cards like this years ago when I first started stamping, so this was fun to make! Are you ready to get your creative juices flowing? Head over to the gallery for a dose of inspiration, and if you’re feeling crafty, come play along with us!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • This Scalloped Blooms card started with cardstock, cut to 11 x 4-1/4 and scored at 5-1/2.
  • Then, I cut the sky designer paper from the Silly Old Bear paper collection to 5-1/4 x 4.

And now, the fun part!

  • I found a pretty designer paper for the flowers. The Floral Charm paper pack is wonderful! I cut out 6 scallops and sponged the edges with Strawberry Slush ink. Once that was done, I curled the flowers up with my bone folder. Then, I layered two together with a dimensional. I cut the “buttons” with the circle die, piercing them and adding them to the center of each flower.
  • I cut the leaves with white cardstock and colored them with Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. Then, I cut three 1/4″ strips of white cardstock and colored them with the Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends.
  • Next, I cut Garden Green Two Tone cardstock to make the background and grass. I glued them to the card base before tucking the flowers behind the grass layer.
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Words & Labels in Garden Green ink and cropped it out with a die from the Scalloped Blooms die collection. Then, I tied a piece of white baker’s twine to the tag.
