Stampin’ Up! Sweet Old Friends Triple Panel Arch Card for Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! Fun folds make every handmade card extra special, and today’s blog hop is FULL of great ideas! Whether you’re looking for a unique way to surprise someone or just want to try something new, you’re in for a treat. I’ve teamed up with very creative SU demonstrators to bring you a lineup of creative, must-try designs.

I didn’t need the Sweet Old Friends suite… but the second I saw it, I knew it was coming home to me. I’ve loved Winnie the Pooh for as long as I can remember. When my babies were little, I decorated their nursery with every Pooh-themed treasure I could find, so this collection instantly felt nostalgic and special to me. The moment it arrived, I opened the designer paper first—and honestly, I just sat there admiring the beautiful artwork.

Of course, admiring didn’t last long. I immediately started cutting into the scenic paper and playing with layouts with absolutely no plan in mind. Then inspiration struck! I decided to create a Triple Panel Arch card featuring the gorgeous scenes on both sides of the arches, and I had so much fun bringing it to life.

I hope this project inspires you to pull out your supplies and just play creatively today. If you love this card as much as I loved making it, let me know! I’ve included the instructions below so you can recreate it with ease.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I made these two triple-panel arch cards a little while ago.
  • I cut the six arches I needed for the card base, white cardstock for one side and Earthen Toned Metallic paper for the other side.
  • Once that was done, I cut two small pieces of vellum (3 x 1) and glued the arches together.

Now, the FUN part!

  • I chose the images I wanted to use and adhered them to the Golden Glow pearlized paper, cut with the Sweet Wors & Labels die.
  • I cut two pieces of the patterned paper to 3-3/8 x 1-1/2 for the left and right sides. I adhered them to the card base and then popped up the images with dimensionals.
  • For the center, I cut a smaller arch with the same pearlized paper.
  • I cut the Silly Old Bear image with another Sweet Words & Labels die and used the same die to cut the Earthen Toned foil paper. I cut that one in two and mounted it under the image. Then, it was popped up on the center panel.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Words & Labels with Early Espresso ink and cut out with the die in the coordinating die collection.
  • The Neutrals Sequins were a perfect match for the foil paper so I placed them on the sentiment for a little sparkle.

Then, on the back…

  • I wanted to let the scenes from the sweet Silly Old Bear paper shine! So, all I added was the images of Winnie the Pooh that I loved that were cut with the coordinating Sweet Old Friends dies.
  • The center was left alone so I can add a sentiment later if I want.
  • So, do you love this paper as much as I do now? Let me know in a comment!

Thanks for Scrolling to the End!

Do you worry about how your kids or grandkids are doing in school or day care?

I am a worrier! But Musa’s school shared some of the cutest photos of him last week and this one in particular made me know that he’s having a great time! Just one less thing to worry about is a good thing!

  1. Yes, the paper and the stamps are certainly pulling at my heartstrings, too. You did a wonderful job with this card…love the backs!!!!! Owl was my mom’s favorite, I’m a Piglet and Eeyore girl. (I don’t know if I could cut the paper or stamp without crying, truthfully.) Such a simple and loving time in my life…..

  2. What a special card, Debbie! All that wonderful Winnie the Pooh DSP is perfectly showcased by your card design! Love it!

  9. Well – this is just darling! I’ve wanted to make one of these and thanks to your instructions – now I can! Can only hope mine will be as sweet as yours! 🙂

  10. Love 💕 your card. Not sure how you used the vellum to fasten each panel together

  11. Hi, Nona! Thanks for your comment! To answer your question, the vellum was glued to the back of the front card panels, and then the back card panels were glued in place, as well. So, your vellum (or I have also used copy paper) is essentially sandwiched between the front and back panels. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions.

  12. What a great fold to display all those sweet Winnie the Pooh images, favorite of myself and my daughters! Thanks for sharing with us at the Paper Funday Challenge!
