Stampin’ Up! Lily of the Valley W-V Fold Card for the Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

Hi, Stampers! Fun folds make every handmade card extra special, and today’s blog hop is FULL of great ideas! Whether you’re looking for a unique way to surprise someone or just want to try something new, you’re in for a treat. I’ve teamed up with very creative SU demonstrators to bring you a lineup of creative, must-try designs.

This card has been sitting on my “must-make” list for WAY too long… and today was finally the day! Any fold that lets me show off gorgeous designer paper is basically my love language.

And one of my favorite perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator? Getting first dibs on new products. (Yes please!)

So today I’m sharing a brand new suite that I really love. I’ve never owned a Lily of the Valley stamp set before, but the second I saw this one, I knew it was coming home with me. The artwork is stunning, and the designer paper is just as beautiful. And can we talk about this color combo?! Garden Green paired with Granny Apple Green is such a fresh, crisp look.

You are going to LOVE this suite as much as I do!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • I used this Connie Stewart tutorial but changed the layers a bit.
  • Card Base #1: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, and scored at 2-1/8, 4-1/4 and 6-3/8
  • Card Base #2: 6 x 3, and scored at 3
  • Panels:
    • Card Base #1: Cardstock – 5-1/4 x 1-7/8 (4) and DSP – 5 x 3-3/4 (4)
    • Card Base #2: Cardstock – 2-7/8 x 2-7/8, embossed with Basics 3D embossed folder (2), and white cardstock – 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 (2)

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Wasn’t that easy? After that, I stamped the sweet Lily of the Valley floral image in Garden Green ink. After it dried (be patient!), I colored it with Stampin’ Blends (listed below). Once that was done, I fussy-cut it out. You can imagine how I felt after doing that when I found the dies that would have saved me the trouble!!
  • Then, I took one of the white cardstock panels and stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment at the top. I glued the floral image to the left side.
  • After that, I stamped the “to a forever kind of friend” sentiment in the right corner. But, guess what? I stamped it in Granny Apple Green, thinking it would coordinate with the floral image, but it just didn’t work for me. So, I stamped it again in Garden Green ink and cropped it out with the new Sweet Words & Labels dies. LOVE them! I liked how it fell over the edge to make the green heart on the bottom. So, I colored the top heart with the Stampin’ Blends to match.
  • Finally, I used Rainbow Dots to bring another Bubble Bath moment to lighten up the monochrome green.

This suite is definitely going to be on repeat in my craft room!
