Stampin’ Up! Lovely Arrangements Card for Creative Creases #114

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge! Whether you’re a seasoned cardmaker or just getting started, I hope this inspires you to play along.

I found this fun fold card design and knew it would be the perfect way to play with the Lovely Arrangements bundle. The coordinating Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series Paper is so pretty, and I couldn’t resist using the Fresh Freesia pattern—especially since it’s been waiting for the perfect project to shine!

Fun folds are becoming increasingly popular. If you are ready to give one a try, let me know in a comment below. I’m more than happy to help you figure out how to get one started today!

My Card Today

Create this card using Lovely Arrangements by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I used this tutorial from Lisa Curcio to create this 4×4 fun fold card.
  • Card Base: I cut two pieces of cardstock cut to 8 x 4, and scored them at 2, 4, and 6. Then, I measured for the middle of the ends of each piece and cut from the score line to that middle mark to create the triangle needed for the squares.
  • Panels: Cardstock—1-7/8 x 3-7/8 and DSP—1-3/4 x 3-3/4 (4)

Now, the FUN part!

  • Once I cut and glued the panels together, I was ready to assemble the card base. The easiest way to do that was to use some Post-it notes (or any temporary adhesive) on the BACK of the middle triangles. Once the two pieces of cardstock were aligned and ready to go, I cut the largest Stylish Shapes square and adhered it to both sides of the two pieces in the middle, which connects the card base together.
  • While I had the Stylish Shapes square handy, I cut two more squares for the end pieces. I ran both of them through the Pressed Flowers embossing folder to create some background texture.
  • After that, I stamped the Lovely Arrangements flowers in Secret Sea ink, then using my blending brushes, I added ink to the flowers, concentrating more ink on the centers, with Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop ink.
  • Once that was done, I cut them out with their coordinating dies. I also cut out the leaves with white cardstock.
  • The Lovely Arrangements die has a fun die that cuts out some random designs, so I used it to cut some Fresh Freesia cardstock that was cut with the smaller Stylish Shapes die.
  • All of the flowers were arranged onto the squares before adding them to the card base, and I popped the middle one up with dimensionals.
  • I stamped the three sentiments from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set and cropped them out with the dies from the coordinating dies.
  • Finally, I added the black Neutral Matte Dots to the flower centers.

I hope to submit this card to the following challenges:

Our sweet little one-year-old just got a haircut… and he did not enjoy it one bit! Musa already has a touch of drama, and he absolutely loves his car seat—as long as he doesn’t actually have to sit in it. With him, everything is either wonderful… or the worst thing that’s ever happened!

Do you know of any kids with dramatic tendencies? I’d love to hear about yours in a comment!
