Stampin’ Up! Lovely Blossoms for Creative Creases #113

It’s time for a new Creative Creases challenge! Whether you’re a seasoned cardmaker or just getting started, I hope this inspires you to play along. I have been living in the twilight zone this week on my blog. I am hoping that it’s all straightened out now, but I had two earlier cards this week that you didn’t get an email for if you are one of my subscribers. So, I am hoping that all has been exorcised today. My card has a cute name, Buckle fold. I think it’s actually called a few names, and it was only after I finished the card that I saw how similar it is to the card I posted yesterday. You can see the fun folds I like making, I guess! I like this fold because of my love of designer papers. The Lovely Blossoms paper is fresh, cheerful and perfect for spring! If you want to make a pretty card that you can whip together fast and easy, this is the one to try today!

My Card Today

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Card Base: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, then cut off 2″ and scored at 4-1/4
  • DSP Panels: 2 x 5-1/4 (3)
  • Inside Cardstock for a personal message: 4 x 5-1/4
  • “Belt” used the 2″ piece that I cut off the card base, then scored at 2-3/4. Attach to the card base at the midpoint of the card base.
  • “Belt” DSP: 1-7/8 x 2-1/2

Now, the FUN part!

  • Once all of the panels were cut and adhered to the card base, the Lovely Blossoms flowers on the card front were fussy-cut from the designer paper to make a quick and easy focal point.
  • Then, I cut out two of the frames from the Forever Florals die collection. If you don’t have this one, I have a link below to give you a closer look, or you can substitute any one in your collection.
  • Finally, I added the flat pearls to add a bit of sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

  • All that I needed to add inside was the sweet sentiment from Beautiful Motifs in Old Olive ink. Then, I made another panel from the Forever Florals dies to adhere behind the front “buckle.”
  • If you need more room to write a personal message, the back of the card could easily be used for this purpose.

I missed this little guy so much! He went to Michigan for a few days, and when he got back, I got sick and haven’t seen him for over a week while I recover. We had such a fun evening together yesterday! Now, he’s going back to Michigan, and we go back to a very quiet house. That’s the life of grandparents! And I’m ok with that…

Any grandparents here who love spending their days with grandkids living close by? The hugs are great, the spoiling is fun, and sending them home to sleep is the best! (wink, wink)
