Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Blooms with Phrases & Frames Card for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Create this card using Scalloped Blooms with Phrases & Frames by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

This month’s Flowers in Bloom theme couldn’t be more perfect for the month of May when everything starts to feel alive again! From soft petals to bold blooms, today’s projects are packed with fresh floral inspiration to help you create something beautiful. Whether you love clean and simple designs or layers of color and texture, you’re going to love hopping along with us!

🎉 It’s here… the new catalog is LIVE! 🎉

And honestly? I don’t even know where to start because there are SO many goodies to play with! Stamps… dies… designer paper… the whole lineup is dangerous (in the best way 😄). But you know me… I had a fun fold idea swirling around in my head, so I grabbed the Delicate Dreams Designer Paper first and just started creating. And here’s the fun part—there was zero pre-planning when I made this card. I just kept adding pieces until it felt right… which means if I can do it this way, you can absolutely recreate it (and probably make it even better!). For sentiments, I pulled from Scalloped Blooms and Phrases & Frames for the front and back, and I used the Fern & Flora dies to add those leafy details around the gorgeous Delicate Dreams florals.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

And now, the fun part!

  • Card Base: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and scored at 2-1/8, 4-1/4, and 6-3/8.
  • Pop-up piece: 5-1/4 x 1-1/2 and scored at 1/2, 1-5/8, 3-5/8, and 4-3/4.
  • Panels: Cardstock/Foil: 5-1/4 x 1-7/8 and DSP: 5-1/8 x 1-3/4 (4). I did cut them in left-to-right order to keep the patterns coordinated (not necessary at all).
  • I attached the two outside panels once the layers were adhered together. Then, I adhered one side of the pop-up piece in the middle of the card base just along the fold. Once that was done, I adhered the panel over the end of the pop-up piece. I repeated this process for the last panel.
  • After that, I used the new Sweet Words Labels dies to create the focal point for this card. I stamped Happy Birthday from the Scalloped Blooms stamp set in Secret Sea ink. Then, I used designer paper to cut the foliage leaves from Fern & Flora dies on the B side of the Delicate Dreams designer paper. Once that was done, I started fussy cutting the flowers out of the designer paper and popped them up with dimensionals over the foliage.
  • I added the Natural Matte Dots to the flower centers. Initially I had added two more of them to the right side of the panel but didn’t like how it turned out. I wanted something that matched the bronze foil paper, but there wasn’t anything that was current on the SU website. So, I colored two of the white Pearls of Beauty embellishments with Stampin’ Blends.

Then, on the back…

  • I wanted to make the back of the card look nice for a personal message. I added panels to the two outside panels with DSP. Then, I made two panels from the two inside panels with more foil paper and white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink and added the last of the flowers that I had fussy cut to finish the card.

Oh my gosh… grandmas really are the MVPs, aren’t we? 😄

Adam had both Noah and Musa all weekend by himself (cue the brave music), and let me tell you… mealtime with two little ones is basically an Olympic sport even with two parents. So when he called in reinforcements, of course I showed up ready. And honestly? I had the BEST time pulling out all my old mom tricks—singing, distracting, bargaining, making airplane noises… whatever it took to get more food in Musa’s belly than on the floor. 😂

We laughed, we survived, and Noah has been talking about it ever since. My heart could’ve burst. And now I’m thinking… maybe this needs to become a standing date. Because I’ll never say no to a little chaos and a whole lot of love. ❤️

Tell me—what’s your best “getting kids to eat” trick?
