Stampin’ Up! Simply Beautiful Joy Fold Card for Let’s Craft and Create

Create this card using Simply Beautiful by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Let’s Craft and Create challenge starts today, and the theme is “Purple and Green.” What a great color combo for the month of March. I don’t know about you, but I need a pick-me-up from the cold temps we’ve been having. I think they are coming, so today’s card is a push for that. The Simply Beautiful bundle is just lovely, and the Lovely & Beautiful paper is wonderful! I love this fun fold because it can showcase multiple patterned papers. It’s easy to make, so I hope you will give it a go soon.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I made the two card bases:
    • Card Base #1: 8-1/2 x 4-1/4 and score at 3.
    • Card Base #2: 9 x 3-1/4 and score at 4-1/2.
    • Card Base #1: Panels:
      • Front – Cardstock (foil on my card): 4 x 3 and DSP: 2-7/8 x 3-7/8
      • Inside – Cardstock (foil on my card): 4 x 5-1/4 and DSP: 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
    • Card Base #2: Inside Panel: Cardstock 3 x 4-1/4
  • Once all of the layers were cut, I adhered them together and to the card bases.

And now, the fun part!

  • I cut out the pieces for the large and small flowers. Then, I colored them with Stampin’ Blends. I wanted to put the pieces of the flower back into the large flower after coloring them, using a small piece of regular tape on the back of each petal. After that, I layered them together and added the stamens in gold foil.
  • Once that was done, I inked the leaves with Stampin’ Blends and cut them out with the coordinating die.
  • After that, I cut the Branching Out frame and dry-embossed it with the embossing folder.
  • Then, I stamped the Simply Beautiful sentiment in Old Olive ink and did a very mediocre job fussy-cutting it. I cut a piece of two-tone cardstock and glued it to the sentiment before gluing it to the card base.
  • My final touch was adding the purple shimmer gems.

Then, on the inside…

  • The panel inside was glued to the inside, and a second Branching Out frame was adhered on top.
  • I made one of the small flowers, coloring it the same as the front flower, adding the stamens in gold foil.
