Stampin’ Up! Sunset Coast Card for the Inspiration Station Challenge

Create this card using Sunset Coast by Stampin' Up! and Debbie Mageed at Secrets to Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

Are you ready for a new Inspiration Station  Challenge? We’ve got a brand new photo to get your wheels turning

It’s that time of year for graduations and celebrations. Since I don’t need anything right now, I chose to pull the colors from the photo and used the congratulations theme to make a card for my son, who is starting a fantastic new job today! I got the brand-new designer paper called Scenic Coast in my last preorder, and when I opened it, I gasped. The paper has a shimmer to it that looks like the sun reflecting on the water. I have never seen anything like this before. I’ve even considered framing it! So, I hope you like the card I created, using the Sunset Coast bundle (again)!

So, what about you? What part of the inspiration photo speaks to your creative soul? I’d love to see how it moves you. Your interpretation of the inspirational photo is your own, so let your creativity flow!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, I started this card with white 12×12 paper, cut to 12×6 and scored at 3 and 6 to make the Z-fold.
  • After that, I took the designer paper and trimmed it down to 5-3/4 x 5-3/4 and adhered it to the inside of the card.
  • Then, I trimmed the second piece to two pieces of 5-3/4 x 2-3/4 for the front and middle panels.

And now, the fun part!

  • Fast and easy, right? Once the card base was done, I cut Night of Navy cardstock with the Everyday Arches die and then cut it with the Sunset Coast lighthouse die. Once that was done, I chose another piece of the Scenic Coast designer paper pack and cut it with the same die. Then, they were adhered together.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock to 1-3/8 x 3 and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. Then, it was popped up with dimensionals onto the lighthouse panel.
  • Of course, then I decided to add the cute Loose Anchor Trinket, so I found some white and navy baker’s twine and wrapped it around the panel and tied it into a simple bow.

Then, on the inside…

  • Okay, I fell in love with this paper and didn’t have the nerve to cover it up! So, I stamped the “congratulations” in navy ink and trimmed it down to 2-1/2 x 3/8. I picked the spot on the paper that wouldn’t cover up the horizon.
  • I had to cut a small Everyday Arches die so I didn’t cover up the beautiful sunset.

I hope to share my card with these challenges:
