Birthday Blossoms with Pretty Petals DSP

Birthday Blossoms, Best of Sale-A-Bration

It’s been a pretty hot week here in Michigan for a change. We broke our wonderful streak of 685 days under 90 degrees. Just once and that is enough for me! I can’t take the heat anymore. It was a great week to stay in my air conditioned craft room (sometimes with a sweater on, no less) and get some fun stuff done – and a little cleaning!

My card today was a work in progress most of the week. The Pretty Petals DSP was still out from my card last Sunday and found this pattern that I just had to use. I wanted it to be the focal point so I found the sentiment in Birthday Blossoms and stamped it in Old Olive, then cut it out. The scallop image is from Best of Sale-A-Bration, which looks quite a bit like the flowers in the DSP pattern so it was stamped in both Calypso Coral and Old Olive then punched out. One more flower was stamped then fussy cut. The bow was made from Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon and little pearls were added to the centers of both flowers.

Are you still here? GREAT! Let’s do some blog candy! Leave me a comment below and I will pick a random winner next Friday! What is the blog candy? It’s a mystery stamp set from the annual catalog! So, let me know which one you would want it to be!

So, I hope you liked my card today! If you did, please take a minute and leave me a comment! I love hearing from you! And while you are at it, please sign up for email notifications (usually no  more than 2-3 per week) and also “like” my Facebook page (I don’t flood your Newsfeed either). Ready to shop with Secret Stamper?  I offer prompt customer service when you shop online with me. 1. Oh, Debbie, this is stunning! Love the color combinations. This will be a great treat for whomever receives it!

  2. As usual, another gorgeous card! Love the layout and the cheery Calypso Coral, which really pops on the Old Olive! Is the oval pierced or stitched? Love that touch! You make such beautiful cards, with so many little details that really enhance the beauty of the finished card. TFS! You make me a better stamper…….

  3. Debbie I would be Santa’s Gift because it would be cool and winter. It was 101 here yesterday! Thanks for the chance to win blog candy.

  4. Very simple but pretty card. Actually, I like Birthday Blossoms, I don’t have this set but I’ve seen so many great cards with it, that it will be the next stamp set I get.

  5. Hi, Cindie! Thank you for your very kind comment! My ovals are stitched but you can certainly pierce them as well, since it would be the same type of detailing.

  6. I’m probably one of the last people who doesn’t have Guy Greetings, but that would be a great stamp set to get. Plus I have to say this card you made is beautiful! Love the colors and the flowers.

  7. I missed seeing you at convention…Hope your vacation was great and that you had a peaceful time of prayer and reflection. AND, love the card!

  8. Love this card. I just noticed this stamp set “Birthday Blossoms” in the catalog a couple of days ago. Since seeing the stamp set, this is the second card I have seen made with this set. I have already “ear marked the page & put on a post a note” so I could find the page in a jiffy, for my “WANT LIST”. One can never have too many Birthday/flower stamp sets. I already have the DSP and punches, so I am ready to go once I get the stamp set. Thank you for sharing.

  9. Hello Debbie: Your card is gorgeous, that DSP is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen lately, the colors are shouting SUMMER!!!!! loud and clear. The snipped flowers and that lovely ribbon and bow really stand out.
    Thank you for sharing.

  10. Such a lovely card, Debbie. The color calypso coral in this card is reminding me more of our retired color poppy parade, but maybe that is because Pam talked about it yesterday. Such sweet details. I would never have remembered that sweet flower from the best of celebration. Off to pin….

  11. I love this card! The poppies on the DSP stand out lovely, but don’t overwhelm, especially with the layout. Thank you for all the wonderful ideas!

  12. Wow what a beautiful card. You always inspire me with your cards, and then you give blog candy on top of that. I think the next stamp set on my wish list is the Everything Eleanor, it was on there last year and I was so glad it returned.
