It’s time for another challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments. We had such great entries into our sketch challenge and really loved visiting you all! This time we have a color challenge and I love this combination! I placed my order on the first day of Sale-A-Bration and the new Occasions Catalog and the All That You Are stamp set was among this BIG order. It’s so pretty, don’t you think?
My Secrets to Making This Project
- I decided to watercolor these colors onto watercolor paper. The image was stamped in Stazon ink, then I used an aqua painter to brush on the ink.
- After letting it dry overnight, I added just a touch of watercolor pencils in few places, but this step could be skipped.
- The background was made with the brand new Florentine thinlit from the Occasions Catalog. I love it!! It makes such a great detail for your cards. The Petal Pink layer was textured with the Subtles embossing folder, which also adds a great – but subtle – detail.
- The Epoxy shapes were colored with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends brush pen and the “raindrop” epoxy shape was added to the stamen of the large flower to add just a little shimmer.

Oh, wow, Debbie! So many lovely details along with a lovelier main image! You have just enabled me to buy the Florentine thinlit – I thought I could skip it!!! Love the ribbon, peeking doily and colored epoxy shapes – I would not have thought about the stamen shape being so similar (and the other could be pollen spewing forth from the flower!!). And I noticed the subtle but ever so grounding gray shadow lines! Absolutely gorgeous, Sis!!
Oh so pretty! Love this color combo and the way you pleated the ribbon. Did you glue or use adhesive sheets on the Florentine thinlit? And any tricks for placing it perfectly, LOL, as that seems to be a prob for me? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your kind comment, Cindie! I used Tombow glue for the Florentine thinlit. I love Fast Fuse (I stocked up a 10 year supply!) but really recommend Tombow if you need time to move something for the best placement. HTH!
This is really a beautiful card.

Hello, Debbie! I’d missed seeing that you were on the DT here: I confess – I looked at the cards, not the names. I’ve played here a few times but couldn’t pass up this delicious colour combination this time. I love your card. The Subtle emboss under the die cut lattice is very effective and that flower – what a bold showstopper she is!
Thanks for your comment, Jan! I’m so happy you played with HHS and hope you will play again soon!
