Peaceful Deer Card for the SU Demo Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop with Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!!

We hope you enjoy the inspiration we have for you. You will find the lineup to the other great fun fold stampers at the bottom of my post. I love to make easy fun fold cards, because they just add that little bit of detail that makes it stand out from a regular card, don’t you agree? I first made this variation of a gatefold HERE and wanted to make another one for the holidays. So, I got out an older current stamp set, Peaceful Deer, to make a nice holiday scenic card, using the beautiful Boughs of Holly designer paper.

Peaceful Deer Gatefold Card by Secrets To Stamping

My Secrets!

  • Card measurements:
    • Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and 11″ x 4-1/4″ then scored at 2,” 3-3/4,” 7-1/4,” 9”
    • DSP: 3/4” x 4″ (2)
    • Inside of the card DSP: 3-3/4” x 4”
    • DSP: 1-3/4” x 4” (2)
  • Firstly, I added the slim side panels of DSP to the back piece of the card base.
  • Then, on the 11″ card base, I scored and burnished the score lines and added the DSP.
  • Finally, I added the panel to the inside of the card.

Now, the FUN Part!

  • Once the card base was complete, I started stamping the deer images from Peaceful Deer, then colored them with Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends marker. I used the handy coordinating punch on two of them and fussy cut the other two.
  • After that, I stamped the tree in Evening Evergreen ink and fussy cut it out.
  • Then, I stamped the sentiment and cropped it out with the Double Oval Punch and used Evening Evergreen cardstock to layer behind it.
  • To create the card front, I cut Evening Evergreen cardstock to 4″ x 4-1/4″ and added more designer paper, cut to 3-3/4″x 4″ and layered it onto the cardstock.
  • Before popping up the sentiment onto the panel, I made a loose bow with gold Simply Elegant trim.
  • Then, I added the two deer, popping one up with dimensionals. Once that was done, I added the deer with the sentiment onto the right side of gatefold.
  • CARD INSIDE: Firstly, I stamped the sentiment with Evening Evergreen ink and cropped it out with the large Stylish Shapes square. Then, I added the deer and tree for a little fun interest.
  • Note that this fun fold card does fold flat and fits into a regular A2 envelope!
