Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month, the theme is Flowers in the Garden. We hope you are inspired by all the wonderful creations the Pals share with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we love reading your comments. Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal. Since I just got my preorder from the new annual catalog that will go live in May, I just had to try some of the new products – the Circle Sayings bundle and Countryside Inn designer paper to make a fun Double Twisted Easel Card.
My Secrets!
- Some of you might remember recently when I made a card that was probably acquired from a swap and I did my best to recreate it. So, today is another card that I found as well and it’s a double-twisted easel card. It is not difficult to make so I hope you like it enough to give it a try.
- Firstly, I made this A2-sized card base from Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/4,” and scored at 4-1/4″ and 5-3/4″ on the 8-1/4″ side.
- After that, I cut at the 2-3/4″ mark up to the 5-3/4″ score line, then scored from that score line to the top and bottom corners.
- Then, glue down the center part to make the easel work.
- Cardstock Panels: 2 pieces of Night of Navy cardstock at 2-3/4″ squares to make the easels, then glued them in place, making sure not to add glue to the part of the panel that will stand.
- White cardstock (inside): 5-3/8″ x 2-5/8″
- DSP Panels:
- 1-3/8″ x 5-3/8″ for the long strip behind the easels and glued in place.
- 2 pieces of 2-5/8″ squares and added to the Navy easel panels.
Now, the FUN Part!
- Once that was done, I started stamping the sentiments from Circle Sayings. Then, I cut out two of them with the Stylish Shapes circle die and cut Navy cardstock with the new 2-3/8″ Circle Punch.
- The “Smile” sentiment needed something so I added a Navy floral cutout from the Chic Dies.
- Then, I punched out the “because you’re awesome” sentiment with the Double Oval Punch. The Stylish Shapes dies had the perfect square die to place in the middle of the two easels so I cut out more Navy cardstock and cut a small square of the new Boho Blue cardstock to it before popping up the sentiment.
- After that, I decided the back panel needed a little decorating, so I cut out another Chic flower in white cardstock and glued it to a Navy scalloped oval and added the banner from the All That dies for a little flair.
- Finally, I added the Enamel Dots Essentials to the flowers and just had to try the new In Color Dots as well.
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team; The Pals are very excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on May 10th, when our theme will be a Tic Tac Toe challenge, where our Design Team will create projects, using elements/supplies that are three in a row, column, or diagonal from the tic tac toe board.
Until then, have fun in your craft space!
