Scenic Wonders with Zoo Review by Secrets To Stamping

Hi, Stampers!

A new Alphabet Challenge starts today with the theme “J is for Jungle Animals.” This is a great challenge for me for a couple of reasons – #1, I love animals, and #2, I bought the Zoo Review stamp set years ago and never used it! How sad is that! It was perfect timing to get it out when I recently purchased Scenic Wonders during the stamp set sale last month. Since I love giraffes, I was happy to ink it up for my card today.

Once you finish here, I hope you visit our Alphabet Design Team gallery for some great inspiration and play along!

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • Firstly, this A2 card started with Copper Clay cardstock, cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2.”
  • After that, I die cut the Grove trees with white cardstock and trimmed it down with the Deckled Rectangle die. Then, I sponged Old Olive and Pretty Peacock ink with a Blending Brush.
  • Once that was done, I stamped the scene from the Scenic Wonders stamp set with Copper Clay ink onto Hello, Irresistible designer paper (it doesn’t photo well here but the background looks like small clouds) and cropped it down with the same Deckled Rectangle die. After placing dimensionals onto the back of the Grove piece, I adhered them together.

And now, the fun part!

  • OK, it’s very difficult to decide where the fun started with this card – I loved making the background! But, once that was done, I stamped the giraffe with Copper Clay ink. Then, I colored it with the light Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends marker and the spots with Copper Clay. After that, I fussy cut it out and blended it at the bottom to match the greenery.
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock to fit the panel and glued it to the card base.

I’m sharing my card with these challenges:
