Stampin’ Up! Addressed to You for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

Hi, Stampers!

This month’s theme is “Something New.” If you’re looking for inspiration and a reason to play with your craft supplies, this hop is for you! The Pals hope to inspire you with card ideas and paper craft creations using Stampin’ Up! products. I am ready for spring, and my card is perfect for anyone on your birthday list. The “Something New” on my card is the Addressed to You stamp set as well as the Lovely & Beautiful designer paper that I just had to have.

My Secrets!

Let’s start with the card base…

  • I have made this card a couple of times before, so, of course, I had to change it up to different dimensions. Today’s card is 5-1/2″ square. If you would like to make an A2 card, you can use either THIS card or THIS card for instructions.
  • For my card today, I started with the following:
    • Card Base #1: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2
    • Card Base #2: 11 x 5-1/2, scored at 2, 3-3/4, 7-1/4, and 9
    • Front Panels:
      • Small Side Panels: 3/4 x 5-1/4 (2)
      • Front Panels: Cardstock: 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 (2), DSP: 1-5/8 x 5-1/8 (2)
      • Middle Panels: Cardstock: 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 (2), DSP: 1-3/8 x 5-1/8 (2)
      • NOTE: I actually made 4 of the front and middle panels to cover both sides. This is totally optional.
      • Inside Sentiment Panel: 3-1/4 x 5-1/4, and DSP: 3-1/8 x 5-1/8 (you can also make a large white panel for your personal message)
    • Once I cut and glued all of the panels together, I glued the two skinny panels to the square card base, then glued the second card base in between the two panels.
    • Once that was done, I glued all of the panels to the second card base.

And now, the fun part!

  • So, doesn’t the gorgeous designer paper take this fun fold to a WOW? So, all I really needed to do was create a focal point for the front of the card.
  • I wanted to keep the focal panel simple so that it didn’t compete with the rest of the card. So, I inked up the oval from the Addressed to You stamp set with Old Olive ink. Then, I inked up the flowers that complete the oval and colored them with Stampin’ Blends (colors listed below).
  • After that, I cropped it out with the Everyday Arches die and cut out the designer paper with the next larger arch and glued them together.
  • I cut out one of the large flowers and leaves from the DSP and glued them to the left side and glued the focal panel (left side only!).
  • Finally, I added the Low Profile Dots to the flowers for a little sparkle.

Then, on the inside…

  • The inside panel was cut and glued together.
  • Then, I stamped the “celebrating you” from the Coneflower Celebrations stamp set in Old Olive ink and cut it out with the Textured Notes die. After that, I glued it to the card interior before adding more Low Profile Dots.

Keep the inspiration going! Follow the lineup below to hop through each blog and enjoy every beautifully frosty idea. And next month we’re creating for the “Language of Love” theme. You won’t want to miss it!

Until then, have fun in your craft space!
